Motability is a government sponsored agency of charitable status, created to enable disabled people to use their D.H.S.S living allowance to obtain personal transport.
The scheme allows users to choose between
A)
Outright purchase of a new vehicle funded over a period of up to 5 years, at attractive interest rates, and with small or even nil deposits.
B)
Contract hire, plans over 3 years’ exchanging all (or most) of the full allowance, for a car of their choosing. The scheme includes all costs, Road Tax, Insurance, Maintenance and Tyres, all that is required from the user is the ‘petrol’.
C)
Outright purchase of the vehicle, available for a vehicle not more than 5 years old, the plan provides for low or nil deposits, with repayment periods up to 5 years at special rates of interest. |
